Without a doubt, Dawood University of Engineering And Technology stands as one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in Karachi. In 1962, former President of Pakistan, the late Muhammad Ayub Khan, laid the foundation of Dawood College of Engineering & Technology. Just two years later, Seth Ahmed Dawood, leading the Dawood Foundation, took the initiative to establish the college.

In 2013, the Sindh Assembly upgraded the college to university status by promulgating Sindh Act No. XII. Although Dawood University of Engineering & Technology is relatively new, it has already made a significant impact on higher education.

Dawood University offers four-year degree programs in various engineering disciplines and a five-year degree program in architecture. Its Engineering Department is well-established, featuring departments in Electronics, Chemical, Industrial, Management, Metallurgy, and Materials Engineering. Moreover, the university has recently introduced several new departments within this faculty.

The renowned university proudly operates two purpose-built campuses in the heart of Karachi. One campus stands near the Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum, while the other is located in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Additionally, Dawood University ensures easy accessibility for students, faculty, and staff.

The university strongly emphasizes hands-on learning, recognizing the importance of practical applications alongside theoretical knowledge. Consequently, Dawood University regularly provides students with opportunities to visit and engage in activities within industrial areas.

Recently, DUET established a research center to foster innovation, creativity, and research-based learning among students. Additionally, in 2009, the university set up a Quality Enhancement cell to ensure academic excellence and continuous progress across all faculties and departments.
