Quaid-e-Azam University College of Engineering Science and Technology, Larkana

To ensure access to quality engineering education for people in the remote areas of Sindh, the Sindh University Engineering College Jamshoro was founded in 1963 as a constituent college of the University of Sindh. In line with the 1972 education policy, the government decided to elevate the college to a University of Engineering & Technology and relocate it to Nawabshah. As a result, the first-year classes commenced in Nawabshah in February 1974..

In July 1976, the institution entered its second phase and was designated as an additional campus of the University of Sindh through an amendment to the Sindh University Act of 1972, with a Pro Vice-Chancellor appointed to lead it. On March 1, 1977, the campus was upgraded to university status through an ordinance. Subsequently, the Provincial Assembly of Sindh passed an Act officially naming the institution Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Nawabshah.

In 1980, the government decided to relocate the university’s main campus to Jamshoro, while the Nawabshah campus was designated as a constituent college of Mehran University and renamed Mehran University College of Engineering and Technology (MUCET), Nawabshah. On August 7, 1996, MUCET was upgraded to university status through an ordinance, which was later ratified by an Act of the Sindh Assembly, and renamed Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology (QUEST), Nawabshah. QUEST is accredited by the Higher Education Commission and the Pakistan Engineering Council.
