University of Engineering and Technology Lahore Kala Shah Kaku Campus

The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore was established in 1921 as the ‘Mughalpura Technical College’ and later renamed ‘Maclagan Engineering College.’ In 1923, the Governor of Punjab, Sir Edwards Maclagan, inaugurated the main block of the university. UET is a public institution, with the Governor of Punjab serving as its Chancellor and overseeing its functions. The university comprises seven faculties and 23 academic departments, focusing on engineering, business, science, technology, education, and research.

UET is ranked among the top engineering universities in Pakistan by the Higher Education Commission. In 2010, QS World University Rankings placed UET Lahore at 281st globally for engineering and technology. Additionally, UET conducts the Engineering College Admission Test (ECAT) annually in the Punjab province.

The Kala Shah Kaku Campus was established in 2006 along the Lahore Bypass to connect with the industries located on the Lahore-Gujranwala and Lahore-Sheikhupura roads. The campus spans approximately 313 acres of land and offers a four-year bachelor’s degree program.
