The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Kala Shah Kaku Sub-Campus established in 2006 on the Lahore Bypass connects with industries located on the Lahore-Gujranwala and Lahore-Sheikhupura roads. The campus covers a total land area of about 313 acres and offers a four-year bachelor’s degree program.
The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore was founded in 1921 as Mughal Pura Technical College and later became Maclagan Engineering College. In 1923, the Governor of Punjab, Sir Edwards Maclagan, inaugurated the university’s main block.
UET is a public university, with the Governor of Punjab serving as its chancellor, overseeing the university’s functions. UET Lahore comprises seven faculties and 23 academic departments, focusing on engineering, business, scientific, and technological education and research.
University ranks among the top engineering universities in Pakistan, according to the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. In 2010, QS World University Rankings placed UET Lahore at 281st for engineering and technology universities worldwide. Additionally, UET organizes the Engineering College Admission Test (ECAT) every year in Punjab province.
